A Conservatory as imagined in 1877 within James Vick’s “Vick’s Flower and Vegetable Garden” which is a hard bound well illustrated volume of advice, essays and encyclopedia styled entries about plants and gardening technique. The book was designed and published in Rochester, NY. Two years later, Vick started a monthly periodical that included some of the same articles but also expanded the content during the next 20 years of its publication.
